My Presentation

Old Ahmed's presentation

Date: 16-5-2012

Time: 11:00am

Location: W007

Subject: Air Pollution

Presenter: Old Ahmed

Introduction:

Old Ahmed began his presentation by giving us the definition of air pollution and he showed us a colorful diagram which represents the toxic elements and talked about it because he couldn’t name some of them.

He then mentioned the causes and the consequences of air pollution by showing some slides and talked about it and adding some more information.

Ahmed gave us a lot of useful solutions; he talked about all of it in a nice way and the best solution he mentioned is using gas instead of gasoline for the cars.

His body language was perfect and he kept his eyes on us all through the presentation.

Everybody asked him some question; because all of us are doing the causes, but he answered confidently and he has a good amount of information.

New things which I learnt:

Perfume causes pollution.

The UAE is the 2nd country in the Middle East which has this problem.

China has the highest amount of air pollution in the world.

My presentation reflection

Date: 2-5-2012

Time: 10:10

Location: W007

Subject: Carl Benz

Presenters: Yousef, Ameer

First, Ameer stared the presentation by introducing Mr Benz  and giving information about his life; he talked about the development of the car ,then handed the turn to Yousef ,who continued the development of the old cars, which are : Wagan, Victoria, Velo and Netpener, and compared Victoria to the new Benz S600.  I got good information; for example it was the first time that I knew the gas was sold in the pharmacy; I was really shocked.

The slides were in dark colors like brown or black and white; I guess the colors were connected with the topic because they were talking about old cars.

There were a lot of questions from Old Ahmed who tried to trick Ameer and Yousef, but they answered all the questions. Mr.Hedley asked about the size of the engine, but the answer was so simple: we don’t know.

Their voice was clear and I could hear it from the back seats. English: their language was good; they had some verb mistakes, but I guess because of stress; their eyes were always on the audience.

The presentation was informative, it was good , I enjoyed it.

my own meeting reflection

In our meeting; we discussed the traffic and parking issues in the college. I guess we did a good job , our agenda were : 1- Traffic , and we suggested to reorganize the student schedule . 2- We talked about the parking and we suggested to build a new campus and make it with a wider parking. 3- For the accidents we suggested to bring a policeman to deal with the problems and to stop the careless student too. 4- The security staff , our solution was to give them permission to give tickets and to give them some training or to change them and bring in professional security.  5- To solve the student carelessness problem, the best way is to put strong rules and give them some awareness campaigns.

After a long time of discussing we all agreed that the best solution is to build a new campus ..

Meeting activity

Date of meeting: 12th March 2012
Time of meeting: 10:40
Venue: W007
Group members.
Chair: old Ahmed
Participant: New Ahmed
Minute taker: Ali Ahmed

Agenda:-
Ø Traffic.
Ø Parking.
Ø Accidents.
Ø Security staff.
Ø Student carelessness and recklessness.

The chairman old Ahmed opened the meeting at 10:40

v Traffic
Ahmed says there is no parking in the college, and the parking entrance is small. He says also the college should prepare the schedules to take half of the students in the morning and another half in the afternoon. Old Ahmed says that it’s not fair to study evenings. Old Ahmed says that many cars are scraped because of the small parking space so there is no way to move .
v Parking
Old Ahmed says many people face the same problem (no parking). New Ahmed says the parking spaces are very small. Some people have a big car so it’s a problem in the parking. Ali says the ADMC have to build 5 or 6 floor parking. New Ahmed says they can’t because there is no time to do it and while they will do it where will the students park. Ali says so they have to build a new building for the college.

v Accidents
The cars get scratched because of the small parking space or the big cars
v Security staff
Old Ahmed says that the security staffs are stupid. They can’t do anything. They can’t solve problems and organize the cars. We should give them permission to give tickets and give them training programs.

v Student carelessness
Sometimes they did something wrong. We should get the police to control them.

In conclusion we thought that the college should:

    1. Organize the parking or build new parking or a new college building.

    2. Get the Mawaqif system in the college.

    3. Get the police in the college.

    4. Build a new University City.

    5. Build a new college with rooms for the teachers and for the foreign students.
